LASIK is a revolutionary
vision correcting surgical procedure that is used to permanently treat
vision problem by using a special equipment to lift the top layer (about 1

layers (the cornea's inner tissue) to the appropriate curvature. The flap
is carefully repositioned and sealed together in just minutes without
stitching.
For nearsightedness, Excimer
Laser reduces the curvature of the cornea, and for farsightedness,
increases the curvature. For astigmatism, it smoothens the curvature of
the cornea in order for the light rays to focus more precisely on the
retina, resulting in a sharper vision.
Since the Excimer Laser uses a
cool beam of light that reacts only on the area that it touches, it cannot
travel through the cornea into the eye and cause danger to the nearby
tissue or the inner part of the eye. |
